The hand crank is both a blessing and a curse. While there is far less risk of the hand crank breaking compared to some electric motors, it is less convenient.
If you have a very heavy setup (perhaps multiple large monitors), you have to crank up much of that extra weight yourself, which can be difficult. But it certainly is much easier than trying to lift a table-top standing desk, which doesn’t even have a hand crank!
